The people of Center Street have a rich history marked by quality Bible preaching. In keeping with this tradition, Pastor Hirsch has developed a plan to preach through the entire Bible in one generation; that is, by the time the children of Center Street have children themselves, they will have been exposed to the full counsel of God's Word. The plan enables the people of Center Street to always know where we'll be in God's Word and to read ahead in their personal study time.
The goal of preaching through the whole Bible is rooted in Jesus' words to his disciples in Luke 24 where he claimed that all the Scriptures were about himself. So if our desire is to know this perfect God-man, then we need to eat a balanced diet of both the Old and New Testaments alike - alternating between the various types of biblical literature.
The preaching plan will be modified as the needs of the body warrant it. Topical series will be presented in between book studies and at holidays and special events. Remember that we study each book of the Bible in context with the rest of the Bible. This means that we don't need to wait until 2021 to study the book of Revelation and we won't be silent about the book of Genesis after 2007. That's the joy of wrestling through the whole counsel of God's Word - we do it all!
