    What we Believe

What makes Center Street Baptist Church distinctly Christian? Would Christ or his apostles recognize our Christianity as their own? How about the early church fathers, Augustine, Anselm, Luther or Calvin? Regardless of their era, each would view us through the lens of a faith that has been once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3). There are certainly beliefs and practices that make us distinctly Baptist – even distinctly Center Street; but there are four questions whose answers have marked orthodox Christianity for two thousand years and form the core of what makes our Center Street family distinctly Christian:

    The four questions are:

    1. Who is our God?
    2. Who is our Christ?
    3. What happened in the Garden?
    4. What happened at the cross?

For a complete Center Street doctrinal statement, please call the church office at (641) 753-5834 or email us at questions@centerstreetbaptist.org.

They say of some temporal suffering, “No future bliss can make up for it,” not knowing that Heaven, once attained, will work backwards and turn even that agony into a glory.
