Statement of faith
Linda was raised in a home where God’s love was taught and modeled by loving Christian parents. As a young child she realized her need for a Savior and trusted in Christ. Linda and her husband, (Donald) Lyle, moved to Marshalltown from Las Vegas in 1976 after Lyle completed a tour with the U.S. Air Force. Linda has been serving the people of Center Street Baptist Church since 1981. She views her position as a way to serve the Lord while serving people. She and Lyle have been married for 47 1/2 years. They love to spend time with their three grown children and their spouses, and their eight grandchildren. Direct Line: (641) 753-5834 Email Linda
Here at Center Street Baptist, we have based our leadership team on the leadership taught in the Bible.
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
Biblical Church Offices
The Bible mandates only two offices in the church – overseer and deacon. The three terms "pastor," "elder," and "bishop" or "overseer" all refer to the same office. These two offices exist within the local church, not as a hierarchy outside or over the local church. 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Acts 20:17-38; Philippians 1:1
What are Overseers?
Overseers are responsible for governing the congregation. They provide leadership and direction for the spiritual life and health of the church.

What are Deaconesses?
Deaconesses are the backbone of nearly every ministry at Center Street Baptist. These servant leaders are involved with nearly every one of our events, communion Sundays, weddings, funerals, receptions, home care ministries and yes, even the famed Baptist potlucks. They organize, plan, create, clean, and generally make everything happening around the church run a little smoother. They are an indispensable part of what makes Center Street tick.
